Installed approximately 25 feet from the back of my home, the camera gave me a full view of the house from one side to the other, plus most of my backyard and a good way up the side yards. In short, you can cover a lot of area with just one camera, and you can count on a prompt notification when something is detected. Therefore, it might be that the guys and gals from Wyze didn’t think that this feature was ready for mainstream Google Home use. It might be that they basically wanted to beta-test it and see how it behaves before releasing the new camera model that would be fully compatible with Google Home. In any case, adding the Wyze camera to Google Home is definitely possible. No picture comes thru, exactly as you described, even after waiting awhile. Resetting Wyze and starting a new "home" within Google Home app had no effect. Just picked up a new in box Hub Max, to use with my Wyze cams (v2's and one Pan). Even when it did work it would take about seconds to pull up feed and then there was a second delay, so really not useful unless you need to quickly check something. Chrisjost answered my original question, FING is trying to figure out what type of device is being monitored using their own LUT. I was concerned that maybe Wyze was up to something with Google, but apparently not.

Next, follow the on-screen instructions to pair your Google and Wyze accounts, which will require you to log into the latter with your email address and password. Multiple cameras can be added to Google Home and these instructions work just the same for Wyze's older Cam v2 as well. Search for "Wyze Home" in the list and sign in to your Wyze account. Use a microSD card for continuous recording and storage. The camera will overwrite the oldest files when the microSD card is filled.
Still, I received a lot of push notifications, mostly from cars passing by or stopping at the stop sign some 75 to 100 feet away. Those notifications came quickly, almost immediately, but they were more than I needed. The Outdoor Cam v2 does at least has a wider field of view, 130-degrees compared to the v1's 110-degrees. That's still not the best on the market -- some offer a wider 160-degree view, for example -- but it is an improvement. Just drill a couple of screws for the mounting bracket to slide over, then place the camera on the magnetic base and adjust the foldable arm as needed. Once you open the Wyze Cam packaging, you’ll see that you got everything you need to use it.
Delivery times may vary, especially during peak periods. It's not entirely perfect -- better image resolution, for example, would have been nice -- but the v2 is still a noticeable step above the original Outdoor Cam. Minor things like 2K resolution and an automatic siren would be nice to have, but I still found the features, ease of use and all-around performance to be well worth the cost. Use the supplied power cord and plug to connect the device to the power source.
